Do you require a stronger skin rejuvenation treatment to target stubborn wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, lesions, scarring and uneven skin texture?

The MicroLaserPeel® by Sciton® is an ablative laser (resurfacing) that removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve the overall skin's overall appearance and texture. The laser's ability to target a range of very precise depths make its results superior to other ablative laser platforms on the market. By removing a very thin layer of skin, the skin is able to restore its complexion and texture evenly. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface across the treated area revealing a more vibrant and luminous canvas in the weeks and months after treatment.

What is the difference between MicroLaserPeel® and other traditional ablative lasers such as CO2 lasers?

The MicroLaserPeel® requires significantly less downtime than other traditional ablative laser platforms. With the MicroLaserPeel® it takes approximately 7 days for the skin to completely heal. In some cases this may extend to 10 days, depending on the area of the body and individual healing time. When compared to other traditional ablative or CO2 lasers, the treated area can take multiple weeks to heal and may lead to hypopigmentation of the skin in some cases.

The MicroLaserPeel® stimulates less persisting post treatment redness, and faster healing than other ablative lasers therefore the downtime is more easily managed. The time spent on the sidelines out of your day to day routine is significantly reduced. This reduces the cost of the treatment drastically as the injury management requirements are reduced. The MicroLaserPeel® is only a fraction of the cost when compared to other platforms.

Is the MicroLaserPeel® painful?

This treatment involves removing layers of skin from the treated area. Topical anaesthetic is applied to the area to make the treatment experience more comfortable, however, some mild discomfort can be expected during the treatment. Our practitioners will guide you along the way and assist in making the treatment more comfortable for you where needed. See below re: post treatment care.

Do I need to follow any aftercare instructions following my resurfacing treatment?

The treated area needs to be cared for post treatment. A comprehensive set of aftercare instructions are provided to you which need to be carefully adhered to in order to ensure best results are achieved. Follow up appointments are included in the cost of your treatment which allow the team to check in you and help you along the way. Over the counter pain relief is sufficient for any discomfort you may experience during the healing process.

How long can I expect the results to last?

Once your skin has completely healed, you will notice a refreshed, luminous and more even skin texture and tone. Some redness may be experienced in the weeks following your treatment which will reside. Your result may continue to evolve and reveal amazing results for up to 12 months following the procedure. Please ensure you protect your skin carefully with high SPF skin care/sunscreen and well covered clothing/hats to ensure your result isn't compromised. Following your treatment, the treated area will be sensitive to UV damage.
